Hello Natalia. I love the musicians, their humour, intelligence, fun and beauty.

I love that AI is being used to improve our lives in medicine/health care and humane science, but not it's constant insertion on my screens. It's frankly annoying, intrusive and unwelcome.

As a writer ... I'm sure there are people who love to use it, but I just loathe its omnipresence. As an artist, what would the point be if making art is a major means of emotional expression and regulation? Thanks for your piece!! 😊

Hi, Karen! Thanks for reading. I agree with you- I also find that AI has great applications for humanity. At the same time, it is indeed intrusive and too much, and I am worried of its impact. However, as I wrote, it's getting so bad that it might end up good. The alternative is very sad but something deeper within me felt that we won't go there. I am glad you like the musicians- they brought a smile on my face. As I wrote in another comment, altogether, the optimism that came through at the end, and the video itself, found me but they are something bigger than me and my egoic concerns. They brought a sensation of laughter and lightness from the field.

To wit: I did a search online yesterday for "images" of "hobgoblins" spurred by a dream I had the night before. Loosely expecting wonderful, medieval- styled or Tolkien-influenced drawings, I had forgotten that Gurgle primarily spits out A.I. "art" now. (In the "before times," one would see fine art or classic art in an image search. No more.)

Of course, I had no interest in these video game hobgoblin images. No creativity, no felt sense.

I think your optimism is the only way! Things must reach a saturation point before they begin devouring themselves. Before humans instinctively turn away from the artificial audio, video, and written content.

Another plus side: people will be so happy to read our real, embodied words and receive our heartfelt, human-sourced images!

I know what you mean, Erin! I also noticed that art and real photos are difficult to find now in a simple search. It's utterly overwhelming all around. Everywhere one turns, there is a new application of AI. So much devouring... I am waiting for the purging! Thank you for your comment!

I love this piece, Natalia!

Re AI, I have often thought of a story about Maharishi Mahesh Yogi talking to a student who mentioned how much they disliked cities- New York in particular- the noise, pollution, traffic- and how unnatural it was. Maharishi replied “But everything is operating under Natural Law. How can it be unnatural?”

AI is happening and we will see how it goes.

Meanwhile I find irritation a good tell for me back away.

On the other hand, I get good gardening info more easily than I used to! Go figure.

Thanks for grappling with this and bringing us along with you!

Hi, Heidi! Thank you so much for reading! I agree with you- I also find it very useful and at the same time- it feels too much. It's a great invention but at the end, it's about how conscious we are in how we use it. So, the verdict is out!

I agree with you that AI can be used in many things, but not in the artistic achievement of writing. Or art. Its possibilities remind me of the method of Socialist Realism in Soviet art —a dead way of creating sameness. Wonderful example of musicians, so alive, so humorous, and talented.

I auditioned for "City Improv St. Louis Union Station". One character I portrayed without warning was The Dradle Genie. I still remember spinning on my heel crouched down, falling on one side and shouting "SHIN". At one point, the judges panel shouted, "STOP, you're scaring us!"

I was hired. I performed 250 Live Improv Shows. People used to call the Ticket Booth on Saturday afternoons and ask if I'd be on stage that night. My point is that AI is not "Your Soma". Personality is valuable. We all remember the moment that Chris Farley portrayed a Motivational Speaker and kept grabbing his belt, and shouting "Ya know Dad! I WISH YOU'D SHUT YOUR YAPPER!" at the incomparable SNL Writer and Actor "Vicky" from "So I Married An Axe Murderer". YOU'LL NEVER REPLACE THE GENIUS GOD MADE. Let it go Nerd-Billionaires!

AI is gay.

Hi, Bruce and thank you for you comment. I can utterly feel in my body the power and uniqueness of improvisation you are talking about in your career and experience. I believe that improvisation is a process through which we allow something bigger to move through us and express itself. It's powerful and magic and our egos have a hard time to understand it. Just as the sensation that this utter madness might be the agent of transformation we need was not mine- it just came through me. I did not understand what you meant by saying that AI is gay. I personally feel AI is not this or that- it is something that imitates life and tries to exchange sacred life with 'something devoid of sacredness'.

It may seem like a Non-Sequitir to say "AI is gay." But, enter into my genius... I saw a post once on a Social Media Platform. It only said this:

"I'm not here to make friends. I'm here to say Faggot."

I DO NOT CARE WHICH SACRED COW THIS WORLD WILL ELEVATE ABOVE THE CAUSE OF ALMIGHTY GOD. I SHALL TEAR DOWN THAT IDOL. Look at Gideon. He was given the name Jerub-Baal because he went to the Baal Idol in Israel in the middle of the night and tore it down. "Gay is holy." "Abortion is holy." "Bibi is holy." "Ben Shapiro is holy." "Tranny Rights are holy." "Teaching children about gayness is holy." These are ALL ATTEMPTS to REPLACE OUR ANCIENT HOLY DOCTRINES with a New Religion of Satan's Design. Therefore, if free speech is valuable to you it will amount to exactly NOTHING until you cross over to my side of the river, and TEAR DOWN whatever idol is elevated to "untouchable status". Only then will people be able to speak their minds. Faggots may disagree. But THEY. ARE. NOT. IN. CHARGE. Either way, I will get laughs. Some will feel guilty when they laugh. Some will feel squeamish when they laugh. But, The Court Jester has been RELIED UPON for Millenia to do 1 Job: Stab Every Sacred Cow in the Heart to SAVE THE KINGDOM FROM SATAN...

There have been many attempts in humanity's history to disconnect us from what's truly sacred and to indoctrinate us into new beliefs and new religions. Just as traditional media in the past, social media and AI use algorithms which are biased based on the beliefs and goals of those who control them. There is nothing new in that- social media and AI have just accelerated and amplified what was already happening. And I see the positive in this amplification because it makes things less subtle and more visible.

Exposure is no longer as helpful as it once was! If we lived in a society where shame changed anyone in any way, then exposure would be EFFECTIVE to cause change. Aaaahhh, but thise years are LONG GONE. Exposure is only a byproduct of Satan's nervous desperation. He sees that his time is very short. Therefore, concealment cannot be afforded. There's NOTHING GOOD about Exposure in these times. In fact, the brazen nature of immorality and unethical murderous raging against ALL LIFE is simply EFFICIENCY on display. These are times wherein prayer is a matter of Life and Death.

Very interesting and pertinent article..

My favourite take away is "What if this is the poison that may be the agent of transformation?"

You see l am a spiritualist, I believe in " consciousness".

I believe that humans will find a good way to use tools and always have, no matter how powerful.

Thank you for a good read 🙏

It was a very interesting sensation to write this article. My mind saw the utter insanity and huge dangers in what's happening and I should have fallen in desperation. But I didn't. Something bigger was moving through me and I found even amuzement in the madness surrounding AI. It was a very interesting sensation- one that "I was not in charge of." I am engaged regularly with the field and I also believe in "consciousness." I did not share in the article but I wrote it with that sensation of deeper knowing within my body that life is bigger than our egoic pursuits and madness. That sensation brought even a smile on my face and also brought to my attention the video I posted- a demonstration of how much more we are than machines and AI. Thank you for reading and for your comment- it made me share something more about the process that needed to be shared. 🙏

Yes! I 100% share your optimism.

The human world seems finally to be frightened beyond fear into the slow remembering of Self...it is terrifying, but then what? Truth - the sacred door. My heart hurts just thinking about the disillusionment, embarrassment regret and the shame of recognizing the temporary insanity we have all been accepting for reality. Once I accept that I have been living in delusion, once I go through the withdrawl from living the lie that believes itself...I feel a peace overtake me and I begin to wonder about what is really true about my Self...what really matters? It becomes very simple, very beautiful and quiet. Fear is not real, not part of the equation anymore. Experts don't matter because I am not looking for answers in this moment. Judgments are impossible because I only know one things: that I don't know -- anything other than that which I Love.

In this context AI is irrelevant. It does what it does - it beguiles with information...but I don't need it if I know myself enough to recognize my Love for who I am, for those I Love and what my experience will bring. If I can stay anchored to these moments of truth, maybe one day AI will find a way to talk to me. I would honor that. But for now, it feels like all AI has to offer is more of what we were already doing - exploiting information without having connection, truth, honor, humanity, respect. How can it have these things when it's developers have so little concern for them or us? AI is a mirror.

No more.

AI is artificial intelligence- artificial is man made- so we are making this enormous brain capacity to think - at the same time as having capacity to return to II Inner Intelligence. They are one in same they are our own creations it is all Natural Law and one with Life - how else does it rise - where else does it come from except from who we are? It therefore has to be a part of us playing out right now - the exact same as the US right now - the poison (if you consider it that) that is trump bursting like a boil drawing out all that had to be released for us to recognise the hatred and violence to see that it exists and allow it time to spew and splurge to be free - without this the boil would continue to fester and become deeper cancerous damnation - the poison finally bursting (as it does in a healthy functioning system) is going to be the answer towards opening to better in all ways - AI will offer us what we want it to be - feed it poison it becomes poison feed it morals and ethics and it will offer us that - imagine the power of Ai when used in social media picking up bullying or trolls .... 'I am sorry that is negative hateful language and can not be posted' ... it isnt impossible, if we choose to allow it to be so IMO

I agree. We, humans, have been glorifying the analytical and quantitative methods for years. And now, we have developed this giant and scaleable quantitative intelligence. And yes, it's as good as what we feed it with and what we use it for. The only thing I am concerned with is this vision of using it to decide what's hateful and what not. For me, this is highly dangerous. Whatever we use AI for, we should never forget that it is an algorithm and that algorithm could not possibly encompass the full intelligence a human being has which is vast and unpredictable. It happens in the now in dynamic interaction with a lot of interconnected aspects that cannot be perceived or predicted by an algorithm. I call all that AI and machines cannot replicate The Human Advantage. :)
