I will start this story with my own struggles with weight issues, but do not think that this article is about weight loss.

And neither is the above sculpture by the way.

It’s about much more than that.

And in my humble experience, it is about something that impacts the lives of practically all people today.

It’s about addictions.

But first things first—me and my weight.

For one, I love food. I love the kind of food that nurtures all my senses. Mmmm… That’s what we call soulful food—one of the wonders of being human and being alive. But that’s not what this story is about.

When it comes to food, on one side, I’ve been dealing with systemic entanglements—something I have always known on some level but now understand in depth as a systemic practitioner. In my case, food was used in my family as a substitute for expressing love, a way to experience togetherness, and a demonstration of achievement.
